Meet the WoEDNT staff

Bruce Pearson BDS, LDSRCS (Eng)
(Chairman) Bruce is a general dental practitioner having been in practice in Tiverton for over 20 years and a vocational trainer for young dental graduates. In addition to his clinical work in NHS and private dentistry he is heavily involved in dental politics and negotiations. Bruce is in charge of financial planning and development of new courses.

Fred Leach BA, BDS, DPDS (Brist)
(Director of Studies) Fred is a general dental practitioner and vocational trainer having worked in Tiverton for around 25 years. Fred has NVQ Assessor and Internal Verifier qualifications and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education. In WoEDNT he is an Internal Verifier and in charge of academic management and co-ordination of the team of Assessors. He is also a National Certificate examiner.

Sharon Teape LCGI D31/32
(Senior Internal Verifier) Sharon qualified as a dental nurse in 1990 and achieved the Certificate in Dental Radiography in 2000. She was awarded the LCGI by City and Guilds in recognition of her seniority in dental nursing. Sharon has NVQ Assessor and Internal Verifier qualifications. In the early days of WoEDNT she was responsible for all assessment but now co-ordinates internal verification.

Linda Carey RDN LCGI D31/32 Cert Sed
(Senior Assessor) Linda qualified as a dental nurse in 1992 and achieved the Certificate in Conscious Sedation Nursing in 2002. She has been awarded the LCGI by City and Guilds. Linda has the NVQ Assessor qualification and is now completing the Internal Verifier qualification. Linda is in charge of the assessment of candidates and is also responsible for mentoring less experienced assessors.

Debbie Coffey RDN LCGI Cert Sed
(Key Skills Co-ordinator) Debbie qualified as a dental nurse in 1999 and achieved the Certificate in Sedation Nursing in 2002. She has been awarded the LCGI by City and Guilds. Debbie has the NVQ Assessor qualification and certificate in delivering learning, she is responsible for assessing Key Skills for candidates who are required to complete these. She is also in charge developing the new National Certificate course.

Nicola Meffe RDN LCGI Cert Rad A1
(Accounts Manager) Nic qualified as a dental nurse in 1999 and achieved the Certificate in Dental Radiography in 2003. She has been awarded the LCGI by City and Guilds. She has achieved the NVQ Assessor qualification. In addition to her work as an Assessor Nic manages the day-to-day financial management and administration.

Sharon Barrell RDN A1
Sharon qualified as a dental nurse in 2003. She has been awarded the NVQ Assessor qualification and is responsible for the assessment of candidates.

Sandy Drew RDN AI
Sandy qualified as a dental nurse in 2000. She has been awarded the NVQ Assessor qualification and is responsible for the assessment of candidates.
